Penwhapple Fishing Club

This fishing club is only for fly fishing.

The reservoir is set among the tranquil Hadgard Hills and is situated on the B734 on the road to Barr. It is approx 1 km long by 1/2 km wide and is well stocked with with Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout from Dalrymple fish farm. The average size of rainbow is approx 1k and the brown trout at 1/2 k.

There are also boats for hire, cost is £5 per session (8am-5pm) or (5pm to dusk). The boats are 15ft double skinned fibre glass, only electric outboards are permissable and would require to be supplied by the hirer. However the boats are fairly easy to row if you don't have an outboard.

The season runs from 1st April to 30th September. Concessions are available for OAPs and juniors from the 1st June. Juniors are 16 and under and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
